چکیده
Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi (CHP), yirmi yedi yıllık iktidarı boyunca ülkeyi tek başına yönetmiştir. Bu süreçte sosyal ve siyasal yapıyı inşa etmeye çalışmış sistemi kendine bağlı hale getirmiştir. İlk etapta birçok radikal değişime gitmiş bu değişimlerle otoriter niteliğini pekiştirmeye çalışmıştır. Ancak İkinci Dünya Savaşı’nın sona ermesiyle uluslararası sistem iki kutuplu güç merkezine bölünmüştür. duruma kayıtsız kalamayan CHP, yeni bir revizyona ihtiyaç duymuştur. bağlamda öncelikle muhalefete izin vermiştir. Daha sonra ise muhalefetin baskısıyla seçim yasasında demokratik yönde değişiklik yapmıştır. Böylelikle halk, iktidar mücadelesinde tayin edici pozisyona yükselmiştir. Çok partili döneme geçiş süreciyle halkın temsil niteliği artmıştır. gerçekten hareketle çalışma, 1946 genel seçimlerini demokrasi bağlamında değerlendirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çünkü seçimleri, açısından dönüm noktası olarak kabul edilmektedir
